When you own a restaurant, you never know what types of people will come in to eat.
One restaurant owner shared a pretty wild story of what happened when a table of Karens tried to come and eat at his packed restaurant.
Owner Built Up The Family Business
The restaurant had been in the family for three generations and had become very popular.
The restaurant had been well-reviewed by food bloggers and food critics and was packed nearly every night.
You Needed A Reservation
The restaurant had become so popular that you needed a reservation in order to eat there.
Those reservations were not easy to come by as they were booked out months in advance!
It Was A Beloved Institution
It was the kind of restaurant that was at the top of everyone's mind when it came time to recommend a fancy place to eat.
This wasn't a controversial opinion, either, as practically everyone who'd eaten there had rave reviews and saw it as integral to the town's restaurant scene.
Ladies' Night Out
A group of "Karens" in their mid-20s came in one night around Christmas and were greeted by the owner at the door.
They did not have a reservation, but "Queen B Karen" insisted that they knew the owner and for him to give them a table or she would see to it that he did not have a job.
Gave Them A Reserved Table
This was news to the owner who had just greeted them as he had never seen them before.
He decided not to cause a scene and gave them a VIP table that was kept open in case any high-profile guests or celebrities showed up. He would also be helping out as their server.
They Were Treated Well
Any restauranteur who's worth their salt understands the value of not only good service, but also discretion.
It's important to meet the energy level of the diners and not cause a scene or overwhelm them — something that this host, by all accounts, did.
Provided Complimentary Drinks
He kept the Queen B Karen's ID and credit card on file as was their policy and planned to give it back when the diners were finished.
He told them that they would receive a round of drinks on the house as they were busy and the food may come out slower than usual.
Food And Drinks Kept Coming
The table ended up having four rounds of drinks before the food arrived.
By this point, the women were all drunk as the drinks hit them pretty quickly on an empty stomach.
The Women Got Progressively More Rude
Throughout the night, the Karens were being rude to the owner, asking him if he felt worthless for only being a waiter.
Another employee overheard the table talking about how they could mess with him in order to always get a free table.
Total Came To $4,232.23
At the end of the night, each of the women's total was between $500-$600.
This meant that the grand total for the group was $4,232.23 which Queen B Karen was shocked at. The owner said, "I have never seen anyone sober up so quickly."
Wanted To Call The Owner
They were shocked at the total and demanded that it must be wrong.
She then brought up "knowing the owner" and showed a fake text conversation with the owner which was not him. He then had enough and said, "Cut the crap little girl, you don't know the owner, you have never been here before and if you keep yelling I will call the police."
Ended Up Paying The Bill
Things changed pretty quickly when that bombshell was dropped and the woman changed their tune.
All of the Karens took out their wallets and helped to cover the more than $4,000 bill.
Came Back With Her Father
A couple of days later, the Queen B Karen returned with her father who was extremely angry.
They went to the owner's office where he showed him security footage with audio of their table.
Daddy Couldn't Help
When the woman and her father saw the footage and heard the audio, they realized they didn't have much of a leg to stand.
They stormed out of his office and the owner has thankfully not heard from or seen them since.
